Privacy Policy
AuraEdits ("AuraEdits", "we", "us") is a desktop video-editing application for Windows, operated by Dreamsphere Studio. This policy explains what data we process, why, and the choices you have. Questions? Write to dreamspherestudio@gmail.com.
1. Data we process
- Account data. When you create an account we process your email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from your Google profile. Authentication is handled by Google Firebase Authentication.
- Plan & usage data. In our database (Google Firestore) we store a record keyed to your account containing your email, your plan/role, the number of videos you have exported, your monthly premium-voice usage, and the account creation date. This is used to apply your plan and its limits.
- Premium voice text. If you use the paid Premium (neural) voices, the text you ask to synthesize and the selected voice are sent through our secure proxy to our text-to-speech provider (OpenAI) to generate the audio, which is returned to your computer. Only that text and voice are sent; your media files are not. The free "Kokoro" voices run fully offline and send nothing.
- Feedback. If you send feedback from inside the app, the message and your account email are stored so we can read and act on it.
- Your media & projects. Videos, images, audio, scripts and project files stay on your device. We do not receive, store or have access to them.
2. Why we process it (legal bases)
We process account, plan and usage data to perform our contract with you (provide the app and your plan). Premium-voice text is processed to deliver the feature you requested. Feedback is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in improving the product. Where required, we rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
3. Sharing & sub-processors
We use a small number of trusted service providers who process data on our behalf:
- Google Firebase (Authentication & Firestore) — account, plan and usage data.
- Cloudflare — hosts our website and the secure proxy that forwards premium-voice requests.
- OpenAI — generates the audio for Premium voices from the text you submit.
We do not sell your personal data or share it for advertising.
4. International transfers
Some providers listed above may process data on servers outside your country (including the United States). Where applicable, transfers are covered by the providers' standard contractual clauses and safeguards.
5. Retention
We keep your account and plan data for as long as your account exists. Premium-voice text is used only to generate the audio and is not retained by us for that purpose beyond what our provider needs to deliver the response. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g. under the EU/UK GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, email dreamspherestudio@gmail.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
7. Security
Sign-in is handled by Google Firebase. Premium-voice requests travel over encrypted (HTTPS) connections and our API keys are kept server-side, never inside the app. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
8. Children
AuraEdits is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
9. Changes
We may update this policy; the "last updated" date above will change and, for material changes, we will make a reasonable effort to notify you.
